Hospital bat infestations are more common than you might think. Obviously, we aren’t going to start naming names, but we have had the opportunity to learn a great deal and help a great deal.

One recurring theme in the hospital bat removal jobs we have done, is that we get called when the community gets informed of the situation. When the situation has become too much for the on site maintenance to handle.

  • Bats flying through the maternity ward in the middle of the night.
  • Bat guano being found in the brand new multi million dollar surgical suite.
  • Bats in patient rooms.

These are all situations that shouldn’t have gotten to the point they did. You know that as well as we do. Here’s one very important thing our clients learned the hard way.

The Community Revolts Against Hospital Bat Infestations

In the small community that I live in, we have 3 choices of hospitals. In larger communities, I’m sure there are a dozen options to choose from.

So if your hospital is one of many, why would the community choose yours after bad publicity about a bat infestation? They wouldn’t. Plain and simple.

And let’s be realistic, consumers have a choice in their hospital these days. Gone are the days of people just letting the ambulance take them wherever. Consumers are educated (whether their information is right or wrong from that “viral video” they saw) and have opinions.

They are also very educated about their own health insurance. If your hospital bat infestations so bad that the Joint Commission gets involved, are the insurance companies going to start pulling your contract? It’s a very real possibility. If you get your accreditation pulled, imagine all the repercussions! I wouldn’t go to a hospital that was out of network, would you?

You’ve Worked Hard on Your Reputation

Keeping a good reputation in the community for a hospital is very important. It takes a long time to build a good reputation and only a moment to destroy it.

If your hospital bat infestations already broke on the evening news, there are a few things you can do. We’ll discuss those things on our next blog.

However, if you are catching this problem before the news did, call us today. Our commercial bat removal experts have worked with many hospitals just like yours. We use the utmost discretion and know how to help you keep this situation under wraps.

Call today or fill out the form at the link below and we’ll call you. Discretion is the name of the game right now so choose who you call wisely.
