What is the real cost of bat removal?

It’s true, getting bats to permanently leave your structure can be an expensive proposition. And, each job is so unique they must be estimated individually. So, unfortunately, we can’t really provide a generalized cost analysis here.

But, this is what we would like you to know about our fees…

  • We offer unlimited FREE phone consultation (whether you hire us or not).
  • We do NOT charge extra for travel within the Pacific Northwest Region.
  • We back up all of our exclusions with a minimum 1-year warranty* against reinfestation.

Whatever you spend on our service, it is backed up by our reputation as top experts in the field, as well as our 1-year minimum warranty!

In order to provide you with an estimate for your particular job, it is necessary to perform a thorough in-person inspection, which costs $295. However, that fee is immediately deducted from the overall value of the contract, should you decide to hire us.

So, you really have nothing to lose. If you suspect bats, call us immediately at 503-303-8389 to schedule an inspection or simply click HERE.

Homeowners insurance typically covers the majority of our fees. We have dedicated insurance coordinators ready to assist you in getting the coverage you are entitled to. In many cases we can even get your insurance to pay their portion first – before you incur any out-of-pocket expense!

IMPORTANT: before any work is done – you will have a clear and accurate estimate of what is required to complete your job, how long it will take, and how much it will cost. That is our commitment to you.

We believe in being an advocate  for our clients – If there is a cheaper way to do something, we will tell you. If you have questions about your quote, we will explain it. If you don’t need us – we will be the first to tell you!

Our mission is to provide quality work that we are proud of and are confident enough to stake our reputation on.

Can I get bats out myself - do I really need a professional bat control specialist?

There are several reasons why the service we provide can be expensive and also why it should be left up to experienced professionals – but it mainly boils down to two important factors:

THE WORK ITSELF IS DIFFICULT TO DO RIGHT.

BOTH BATS AND THEIR GUANO (BAT POOP) CAN BE DANGEROUS!

CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

Bats tend to hide in the highest reaches of your home.

This requires a lot of ladder and/or roof work (in some cases, we may even have to repel from your roof). Even if you are comfortable on ladders, there is no doubt that it’s a dangerous proposition. Plus, if you don’t know how to properly bat-proof, you could end up doing an inadequate job and wasting time and money, or even damaging your property.

Bats are known to carry rabies.

Being in close proximity to bats puts you at risk for a potentially deadly rabies infection. It’s not worth the risk. Hire a professional.

Guano is known to harbor a fungus that can cause histoplasmosis.

If you have bats, you probably have guano on the premises. If you attempt to handle the guano clean-up yourself, then you risk contracting histoplasmosis. This condition can be deadly if not adequately treated – another good reason to leave it to the pros!

Air testing & remediation may be necessary.

If there is guano on-site, then it is often advisable to test the air for the fungus that causes histoplasmosis (depending on the amount and area in the house where it’s found). We have the equipment and expertise to eliminate this potentially deadly hazard from your home or office environment.

If you own a wood cabin or log cabin, you best leave the exclusion to professionals.

Effectively bat-proofing a wood or log cabin requires special expertise. For example, does your cabin have chinking and checks, or is it dry-sacked? Each requires a special approach. If you fail to completely seal every nook and cranny, the bats may return. The colony will be even harder to get out next time, because their instinctive bond to your home becomes stronger with each passing day.

TAKE BAT ENCOUNTERS SERIOUSLY.

If you encounter a bat during the daytime, there is a possibility it is sick or rabid.  This Oregonian was camping and spotted a bat, during the day, hanging out on a tree.  It was rabid.

Every year in Oregon, a small percentage of the bats tested for rabies, test positive for the disease.
