I’d like to tell you a little story. It’s not a bedtime story. But, I can start with once upon a time if you’d prefer…

Once upon a time there were two families. The Greens and the Browns, who live next door to each other in the suburbs. The Greens have two children in grade school and they own a popular coffee shop in town. The Browns have three children who attend the same elementary school as the the Green Children. Mr Brown works for UPS while Mrs Brown is an executive at a local technology firm. They are super busy and rarely home.

These two families have lived in this particular cul-de-sac for about a decade when something strange started happening. Both the Browns and the Greens started noticing a faint fluttering noise at dusk and early in the morning as they were leaving for work and school.

Then, one night, the kids were riding their bikes and saw something escape out of the Green’s attic window and fly away. The kids ran inside and told their parents.

Don’t Ignore the Signs!

Mr. and Mrs. Green had dealt with rodent issues in their previous home and did not waste any time calling a pest control service.

The Browns, on the other hand, did nothing. They assumed that the bats were at the Green’s and not really their problem.

The fluttering noises continued in the Brown’s home and very soon there was the faint smell of ammonia and bat guano on the window sills.

Meanwhile, the Green’s had called their insurance company as soon as they called Get Bats Out, filled a claim, and handled the situation as quickly as possible. Dealing with any sort of infestation is not fun, but the Green’s were proactive and it was totally taken care of within a week.

The Brown’s were busy with other things and their bat problem continued to escalate. Mr. and Mrs. Brown started showing symptoms of histoplasmosis: fatigue, cough, sore throats… It wasn’t until they found a bat flying around their living room, when they called a bat removal expert.

Call the Experts!

And, it wasn’t until they received the estimated bill that the Brown’s filed an insurance claim.

The Brown’s insurance denied the claim because they had ignored the problem for so long. The Brown’s were forced to move into a motel for two weeks during the cleanup because the bat guano was far worse than they had imagined. And, the work took twice as long and cost twice as much as it should have.

The moral of the story is that the vigilant and proactive homeowner will spend less time and less money when dealing with a bat infestation. A knowledgeable and skilled pest control service will be your best asset in times like these.
